Keg Rental Policy
Thank you for considering Draught Works for your keg needs! We offer all our beers in both 1/4 bbl. (7.75 gal/62 pints) and 1/2 bbl. (15.5 gallons/124 pints) kegs. Unfortunately, we are unable to fill kegs that are not our own. We like to have as much time as you can give us for keg orders, in order to make sure we have what you want on hand and ready to go. 1-2 weeks is usually plenty. We are happy to accommodate day-of orders, as long as we have the product in stock that you are looking for. Having trouble deciding on a delicious brew? Check out our beer menu for all our latest offerings! We do require an UP-FRONT DEPOSIT on all kegs and equipment ($130/keg, $55/pump, $30/tub). You will receive your deposit back in check form two business days after equipment is returned in proper working order.
Party Responsibility: The person picking up the keg must provide a valid photo ID and sign a keg information sheet required by the state of MT. If you bring any friends with you, we’re going to card them as well, so make sure everyone has proper ID.
The person who signs for the keg accepts all responsibility for the keg and its related supplies; if you sign, you’re the one responsible for everyone at your party. We will also hold you responsible for any damage to the keg, the tap, or the bucket we loan you, so treat them with care.
There will be a green tag on the side of your keg with our information on it. Do not remove this as it is a state requirement and you can be fined.
Keg Operation: If you’ve never tapped a keg before, don’t be embarrassed; just let us know, and we’ll be happy to give you a demonstration and answer any questions you have while you’re at the brewery. We don’t have a 24-hour keg help hotline, however, so if you experience any problems with your keg once you’ve left the brewery, we can’t guarantee that we’ll be available to offer any assistance. Keg purchases are nonrefundable, so if you have questions, please ask before you leave. We will properly maintain all beer and supplies until you pick them up. Once they leave our facility it is your responsibility to insure their maintenance.
Payment and Refunds: We accept cash, check or credit/debit cards for payment and deposits, which is due at the time of pickup. Please bring your receipt/order form with you to return equipment. When the equipment is returned in good condition we will refund your deposit in one way. We will refund all deposits by check 2-3 business days after equipment is returned. We can mail the check to you or you can swing by our taproom and pick it up.
Thank you for choosing us for your beer needs. If you have any questions, please give us a call at (406) 541-1592.
As far as maintaining your keg, just keep a few things in mind:
- Keep your keg cold at all times. Seriously, keep it cold. Warm beer creates foam and speeds up oxidation of the beer. Too much pumping on the tap also creates foam. (Make sure to only pump it a few times.) Foamy beer is not good beer and we will not be responsible for foamy beer.
- On the other hand, please do not store your keg in freezing conditions. It will freeze solid and you will not be able to pour it.
- When you get the keg to your party location let it sit for at least 1 hour. (Do not tap it!)
