Introducing Tucker, The Nut Butter Slangin’ Beer Bandit!
Hailed from the land of milk and honey, more commonly known as Virginia, is a curious creature that goes by the name of Tucker. Tucker, the new-ish brewer at Draught Works, came to us in early August, and we’re happy to report that although he’s a wiley coot, he’s a hilarious, hard workin’, all around happy dude and we’re lucky to have him!
Tucker slowly made his way to Missoula as a young explorer and backpacking extraordinaire, traipsing his way across the U.S. of A with high-quality gear in tow, as he analyzed, tested, and assessed said gear for Backcountry.com. Though his gear-testing-review-writing-nomadic-lifestyle had it’s perks, and big shiny ones at that, he needed a way to earn a living, and his unpaid gear head gig just wasn’t cutting it.
After moving to Florence, MT to live with some close friends while he built his savings, Tucker accepted a stocking position at Summit Beverage Company. Having an immense appreciation for the beverage industry, namely craft beer, Tucker was mesmerized by the idea of one day becoming a brewer.
When a production position opened up at another local brewery, Tucker jumped headfirst at the chance to get his foot in the door. Within a few short months, Tucker’s impeccable work ethic and bright personality earned him a place in the sun… as a cellarman/brewer. Once he got the hang of handling all the equipment and brewing, he was off to the races writing his first recipe, a Belgian pale.
As Tucker’s skill and passion for brewing continued to flourish, and his thirst for brewing knowledge became unquenchable, he felt called to pursue a brewing position elsewhere, and his buddy ole pal Pete (a.k.a. Pooch) suggested he apply for a position with Draught Works, and the rest, my friends, is pretty much history.
The way to Tucker’s heart is paved in Beastro Brunches, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and his father’s meticulously crafted BBQ Short Ribs, though he can be spotted crushing a Britney’s Batch Hoppy Blonde, or a bike, or maybe even his sisters car?! A true llama at heart, this furry friend still finds time to wander the mountains far and wide with his beloved new puppy Pasha. Though his backpacking heart belongs to the ‘Bob’, Tucker has walked, and will walk just about anywhere, and has walked/hiked/backpacked well over 8,000 miles in his life. He one day hopes to walk an entire globe (over 23,000 miles).
Tucker fits right in with the quirky Draught Works crowd, and we couldn’t be happier to have this shirtless-air-guitar-enthusiast on staff. Thanks for being you Tucker, we wouldn’t have you any other way!
