Draught Works is Committed to Stop Hate for Profit
Since our inception, Draught Works has consistently utilized Facebook as a pillar of our marketing strategy and primary mode of communication with our community.
Through the years we have seen the platform grow and change into something that has become toxic by consistently raking in profits from advertising revenue without due diligence to make sure blatantly false, racist, antisemitic, and violent information is taken down or clearly labeled as such. Facebook has become a liability to our democracy and must change.
Draught Works is proud to join the Stop Hate for Profit campaign. Effective immediately, we will pull all ad spending on both Facebook and Instagram, through at least the end of July. If Facebook has not made meaningful change to stop profiting off disinformation and hatred, we will continue this pause indefinitely.
We will continue to post on both platforms, but will not spend any advertising dollars. Our marketing budget will be redirected into avenues that are more local and align with our company values.
We feel we should stand up for what we believe in and find new ways to reach our customers where they are without compromising our values.
