Hailey Schofield is not only a server at Draught Works Brewery, but she is also the owner of Wild Mountain Ink. Wild Mountain Ink is a pen and ink illustration company with hand carved, hand glazed, and high fired porcelain jewelry – the prints and jewelry are all black and white.
She is originally from Vermont, and when asked what brought her here to Montana this is what she had to say: “I was driving out to go to grad school in Vancouver, Canada and stopped in Missoula and I loved it so much I just decided to stay. I didn’t know anybody, didn’t have a job, but I didn’t make it to grad school, and now I’m going on four years here!” We asked Hailey a few questions so you can get to know here a little better, take a look below!
3 things you cannot live without? “My dog Tucker, Ellie Mae Belgian Strong Ale, and Sudden Wisdom. And I am going to add a fourth one – Glitter.”
If you were a crayon what color would you be? “Mac & Cheese because it’s the name of a crayon, and it’s delicious!”
What do you do at Draught Works? “I pour beer. I am a sensory panelist. And I am the chalkboard artist.”
Would you consider yourself a hipster? “Absolutely not.”
Isn’t that what hipsters always say? “Haha, I see what you did. I don’t dress fashionably enough. They wear vintage clothes – we used to say they were tight pants, but everyone wears tight pants now.”
What kind of beer would you be? “The Darkness Barrel Aged Imperial Stout because it’s warming when it goes down, but it’s kind of a slap in the face.”
How do you celebrate July 4th of every year? “I celebrate with my friends, and I’m usually wearing an American Flag bikini top, and drinking whiskey on the river.”
If you could be any Draught Works employee, who would you be and why? “Shelby because of her stellar dance moves, and her amazing growler cap art!”
If you were a regular, where would it be in Missoula and what would your drink be? “I am one at Montgomery’s Distillery, and my drink is the Rocky Mountain Flip.”
